The PSU Ronald E. McNair Scholars Program is accepting applications for the 2011-2012 program year. Applications are due on Friday, November 4, 2011 for the program cohort starting Winter 2012.

The Ronald E. McNair Scholars Program works with motivated and talented undergraduates who want to pursue PhDs. Through academic seminars, the program introduces PSU juniors and seniors, who are first-generation and low-income, and/or members of under-represented groups, to academic research and to effective strategies for getting into and graduating from PhD programs.Scholars work closely with faculty mentors on original research during summer internships.
Program benefits include:
-A $2800 summer research internship stipend to complete an original research project
-One-on-one Faculty mentoring
-Opportunities to participate in academic research conferences and other scholarly activities
-Enrollment in the McNair program seminar
